For the second year, Malkat Shva, under the new Ethiopian cultural organization Gojo Bet, organized an Ethiopian experience for the annual Beit Lehem Street Festival.
With the assistance of volunteers, we built a gojo bet - a traditional Ethiopian house. Our dance teacher Adena Beyegne led a workshop with the Studio 6 dancers in Ethiopian dance, and continued the dance throughout the evening in the street.
The Absorption Office brought Ethiopian community elders to sell traditional food and art.
Zaudito Yosef of Gojo Bet created Ethiopian art with the kids passing by and assisted Adena in leading the dance.
Everyone enjoyed the experience and we were approached to duplicate it around the country!
