Baltimore / Addis Ababa / Jerusalem

In this year's Stage One English Theater Festival at Bet Avi Chai, the Malkat Shva kids performed in a show featuring the parallel stories of American and Ethiopian Olim in search of their roots. In between monologues about their experiences acclimating to life in Israel, our teens showcased their ethnic Ethiopian dances and songs.

Yitzhak provided narration with his perfect English, and Eliyahu Sidikman made a special appearance with the Malkat Shva choir, singing "Peace Train" from the Cat Stevens tribute he produced for the Jerusalem Arts Festival, which featured a mixed children's choir including our singing group. Over 150 people came to enjoy an evening of culture par excellence.
